route in detail

Through the gate on Brothers Creek Fire Road (shared at first with the Baden-Powell), then straight up into forest on the red-marked fire road / Forestry Heritage Walk. Pass the Ballantree and Crossover Trail junctions, leave the heritage walk where it turns onto an old cable railway, and continue on the fire road through old-growth hemlock, amabilis fir and a large cedar grove to Blue Gentian Lake. Continue east of the creek about 400 m to Lost Lake and descend via Crossover Trail.

Watch for: Sustained climb on rough fire road; several junctions, so follow signs.

Best season: Best May to November

good to know cam

Hi, I'm Cam Appleton. I love Vancouver and I love getting out on its trails. When I went looking for a simple, easy hiking guide for around here, I couldn't find one I liked. I also really like helping people, so I built this one.

My day job is real estate. I help people buy, sell and lease. I hope you're enjoying the start of Hike Vancouver. If you're thinking about living closer to trails like this one, I'm happy to talk.
