route in detail
Climb from Panorama Drive onto the Baden Powell Trail, crossing creeks on bridges and boardwalks. At 1.7 km a short spur on the right leads to Quarry Rock, a granite lookout over Deep Cove and Indian Arm. Many people stop here and return. To continue, go back to the main trail and head north. Cross a gravel clearing under the power lines, a maintenance road, and then Francis Creek near Indian River Drive. The trail climbs to the Mount Seymour Parkway area, then makes a steep rocky descent to the Seymour River around the halfway mark. Poles help here. Cross the river, climb out the other side, and follow the markers through forest to Lynn Canyon Park. Finish by crossing the canyon on the bridge near the café.
Watch for: Steep rocky descent mid-route. Mountain bikers.
